While sometimes it does go away, it ALWAYS comes back. Remember that time when you fell down playing basketball and heard 3 loud pops while falling to the ground? No! That's what happened to me during a fun-filled weekend trip as a young basketball player. I was going for an easy layup shot and sure enough my friend attempted to block the shot and his foot was left under mine, long story long, I missed the shot and laid on the ground for a good 10-15 mins. Initially I iced the ankle but what was more remarkable was walking. I tightened up my shoe laces then began walking. The pain started to settle and the swelling got smaller. I began to perform some pumping ankle movements and loosened the stiffness even more. Before you know it, I was walking 80% better. MOVEMENT IS KEY!
